The founder, Dina Gezahegn Taddese, initiated the business in 1996 by trading sugar cane in the eastern zone of Ethiopia. Over time, the business expanded into sheep and livestock trading within the domestic market. In 2012, the company further ventured into livestock export, which proved highly successful, generating significant foreign currency for Ethiopia. This achievement has positioned Dina as one of the major livestock exporters in the country.
